Island

“Well no man is an island”, I once heard someone say,
But in the middle of an ocean, it all seems far away.
You can hear the waves against the shore.
You can feel the warmth of ocean floor.
I know it’s hard sometimes, but we must keep in mind that this feeling will subside.

I saw a stray dog on the beach there, he was running free.
But when I tried to drive away then, he chased after me.
See maybe even freedom has its price.
Things can be so hard but look so nice.
I know it’s hard sometimes, but we must keep in mind that this feeling will subside.

You can see the schools of fish go past so swimmingly.
The seaweed grows up to my knees.
Maybe somewhere in this great big open sea
There’s an island just like me.

I saw a seahorse in the water, he swam against the waves,
He clung on to a rock when a gust of water came
See even just a seahorse has the right,
And he has the strength to hold on tight.
I know it’s hard sometimes, but we must keep in mind that this feeling will subside.

I can see the coral and seashells wash on the beach,

From the shade of these palm trees,
Maybe somewhere in this great big open sea
There’s an island just like me.

Maybe somewhere in this great big open sea
There’s an island just like me.

There’s an island just like me.
There’s an island just like me.
